In marina at Belhaven, NC. tonight. Videos are crossing Pamlico river/sound. Perfect day after anchor out last night. Don’t know about tomorrow, maybe some rain. Next big water for me is Albemarle Sound 15 to 18 miles across, two days before I get there. Will try and cross this one on the weekend when there are more people out and about. Just in case.

    Buzz,

I’ve been following you on your RSS feed. Have enjoyed the pics and especially the new video’s. From the video’s I was not able to tell are you using any electronic navigation devices, such as a handheld GPS or are you just using paper charts to plot your course. Also hope you are keeping a log on fuel used. That little 2 horse Honda appears to be pushing the boat just fine. Be safe out there!

Barry, I use GPS and paper charts. I have two GPS in case of a
problem. When you are as close to the water as I am it is sometime
hard to see the markers and then refer to the charts when that
marker is not the one you need. But plotting the course the day
before and if I follow it things are fine. I just refer to the charts
and check off on the charts, the markers for reference if needed
later. Doing that keeps me awake and double checks that I
did not make a mistake plotting on the GPS.
