I live here and they made me realize how fortunate I am! Places like Whiddens Marina created a Florida law to protect family marinas from escalating property taxes. The old law taxed them as best use property, meaning at condo rates. The new law recognizes these family businesses aren't wealthy enough to pay those rates so they're taxed for what they are.
