Last night when we returned from visiting K&K and their family I was able to get in contact with Buzz. A few days ago he was in Panama City, on the 29th he stayed in White City – about 20 min. from our house. Last night, the 30th, he was in Apalachicola – about one hour east of us.
Al and I drove over to see Buzz this AM. It wasn’t hard to located the Dalamar (named after his Black Lab). All we had to do was to look for a 15′ red & White boat. Yes, it is running on 2 – 2HP motors. Buzz said that they are working well – for the time being.
He looks great!!! He has a nice tan (Buzz wonders if it is wind burn) and looks relaxed. The whys, when’s and how he got things ready for this trip were really interesting. He needs to write a book when this adventure is complete or at least publish his journal. While visiting he had a chance to go out for lunch and take him to some stores so he could do some shopping.
The boat is so compact, equipped with a duffle bag filled with tools and spare parts, life jacket and a very cozy sleeping cabin including a heater. If you are wondering about his safety, he wears a safety device that allows him to let his family know that he is OK, informs emergency departments that he needs help, all this just by pushing a button. What a great morning Al and I had learning about this fantastic adventure.
Keep him in your prayers.
